Main Difference between the Spinet and others

The hammers are the same size in ALL 4 piano styles. The Spinet Piano keys will PULL up the hammers to strike the strings. In the larger pianos, the keys will PUSH up the hammers to strike the strings.

Because the soundboard of a Spinet is the shortest of the piano family, the ‘hammer action’ is lowered to fit inside the piano and therefore the hammers need to be leveraged differently than they are in the larger brothers.

Notice, all the hammers are the same size, but it's where they are placed in relation to the size of the soundboard making the difference being the spinet keys PULL up the hammer action while the others PUSH up the action hammers.

He is very responsive and clearly takes pride in his work. In these times where we are self-distancing for an unknown length of time, it's very uplifting to be able to have music in our house. Very happy with my purchase! Don't waste your time looking all over Facebook for a used piano. Jay took all of the work out of buying a piano. He has a large selection of pianos to choose from. Also, he delivered our piano only a few days after buying it and for a very reasonable price.
