Main Difference between the Spinet and others

The hammers are the same size in ALL 4 piano styles.  The Spinet Piano keys will PULL up the hammers to strike the strings.  In the larger pianos, the keys will PUSH up the hammers to strike the strings.

Because the soundboard of a Spinet is the shortest of the piano family, the ‘hammer action’ is lowered to fit inside the piano and therefore the hammers need to be leveraged differently than they are in the larger brothers.

 

Notice, all the hammers are the same size, but it's where they are placed in relation to the size of the soundboard making the difference being the spinet keys PULL up the hammer action while the others PUSH up the action hammers.

Jay delivered the piano of my dreams 500 miles up to Cody, Wyoming in a blinding snow storm. That was above and beyond the call...He is the nicest and most talented person I have ever met and we hope that he will come back this summer for a longer visit...He is the BEST!!!

  • Jay is extremely rude and hostile. We were looking into a piano for a friend's birthday, and all of our questions were answered with hostility and mockery. We simply wanted to know what his services were, what selection, and if he partnered with movers or tuners for his rescues. We loved the idea of buying a piano that was restored and unwanted in someone else's place. We love supporting local, but we will never buy here.

  • Jay is amazing! He was incredibly patient with me and found just the piano my family was dreaming of. His attention to detail is astounding, he made the finish of the piano nearly new again and for my untrained (but aspiring) musical ears, it sounds absolutely beautiful! Very fair price also, since it includes tuning, restoration and delivery. My family will cherish this heirloom for years to come.

  • Jay is an amazing musician and technician! He brought our 100 year old baby grand back to life. Affordable and he goes the extra mile... all the way to Littleton from Lyons! He took the extra time it needed to make our baby sing! Thanks Jay!

  • I cannot recommend Jay enough if you’re in the market for a piano! He is a musician himself and it is apparent how deep his love for pianos is! I contacted him via marketplace and he took the time to send me multiple available pianos and even sent me videos of each being played! I picked a stunning Weber baby grand piano. It showed up less that 24 hours later professionally delivered with Jay arriving as well to make sure it was tuned and working perfectly! Wouldn’t buy from anywhere me else!!! Highly recommend!
