Main Difference between the Spinet and others

The hammers are the same size in ALL 4 piano styles.  The Spinet Piano keys will PULL up the hammers to strike the strings.  In the larger pianos, the keys will PUSH up the hammers to strike the strings.

Because the soundboard of a Spinet is the shortest of the piano family, the ‘hammer action’ is lowered to fit inside the piano and therefore the hammers need to be leveraged differently than they are in the larger brothers.

 

Notice, all the hammers are the same size, but it's where they are placed in relation to the size of the soundboard making the difference being the spinet keys PULL up the hammer action while the others PUSH up the action hammers.

  • Our experience with Jay was excellent! I reached out to him, and he immediately responded with pictures of various pianos to choose from within my budget and preferences. He delivered the piano the next day, fully tuned and cleaned, along with a bench and some sheet music. He even played a song for me and my kids!   • We were so grateful that they were willing to deliver a piano all the way down to us in Colorado Springs! It was surprisingly inexpensive for them to travel so far. They were also very kind. Jay played Charlie Brown for our kids while they danced, they loved it. Piano is beautiful. So glad we found them!

  • I am thrilled with the piano I got from Jay!!! He was very helpful with me over the phone and answered all my questions patiently. you see it had been 45 years since I had played the piano and decided that I wanted to play again. Jay delivered the piano of my dreams 500 miles up to Cody, Wyoming in a blinding snow storm. That was above and beyond the call...He is the nicest and most talented person I have ever met and we hope that he will come back this summer for a longer visit...He is the BEST!!!

  • A very easy and smooth purchase from Jay. He is very knowledgeable about the piano world and the buying experience was more than amazing. He wrapped the piano perfectly and arrived on time with the right equipment to move the piano safely, we then chose the spot and he played something very nice as to introduce the piano to the home. He is the guy you need in the Colorado area!

  • I cannot recommend Jay enough if you’re in the market for a piano! He is a musician himself and it is apparent how deep his love for pianos is! I contacted him via marketplace and he took the time to send me multiple available pianos and even sent me videos of each being played! I picked a stunning Weber baby grand piano. It showed up less that 24 hours later professionally delivered with Jay arriving as well to make sure it was tuned and working perfectly! Wouldn’t buy from anywhere me else!!! Highly recommend!
