Here’s a sharp looking piano with very good cosmetics, and a clean sound. Nice keyboard with good action and if it matches your taste, you too will cherish it for the next generation.
Marantz was famous for powerful stereo equipment in the 60’s and 70’s. To promote their design of the Pianocorder system, they purchased the Grand Piano Company and then built some pianos with the built-in electronic player.
Made by the Kincaid Piano Company, formerly called the Grand Piano Company. The Marantz name came about because of the Pianocorder system (the first player/recorder piano to use cassette tape for playback – think pianodisc) built by the Superscope division of Marantz in Chatsworth, CA. They bought the Grand Piano Company, changed the name to Kincaid Piano Company, branched into furniture. The only Marantz stereo products built there were a few stereo speakers.
